It's not a full featured cleaning robot, but I got a Betta SE that's solar powered and skims the surface. I absolutely love it, reasonably priced. Have an issue with leaves on the surface and my pool has never looked better. It's never run out of energy (this model can't be charged, all solar with an onboard battery) basically goes all day by itself. My guess is the longevity will be an issue, but if I get 2-3 years out of it, I'll be happy.
I'm somewhat skeptical of the really expensive electric robots and their service life, they also seemed to have limited serviceability. I have a suction cleaner "The Pool Cleaner" (Poolvergnuegen) for the plaster under the water and it really has been incredibly reliable and just don't see much need to swap it out or feel the need for an upgrade. Easily rebuilt and relatively inexpensive to replace.
