So I am now wondering if it is past the call date and yielding 5%, it will not get called if short term rates are over 5%.My experience for agency bonds is that when trading price exceeds par they get called, i.e. you paid $20,000, the market value is $20,001 one week prior to call date, and it gets called. You don't get back your commissions paid ($5 commission per $5,000) which diminishes your yield.
I have several such bonds.
