As an example for appts just not to bill, so far all my docs will give me a script for the next 6 mo visit. I go for lab work 1 week ahead of appointment. This, in my opinion, is more efficient as he has the lab work done etc. Old method, appointment, doc orders script, call you back to view results, dispenses scripts etc. Very few of my docs give me paper scripts anymore. They call the script(s) directly into the pharmacy during the visit. [usually #90 with 3 refills, sets me for 1 year] All of this is on line. I have a hospital "port" that the lab results are available about 4 hours after I visit the lab. Same for Docs report after I leave the appointment. Any images and findings are also available this way also. Great technology, but I wonder about privacy as well. Image may be NSFW.
