I’m glad this point was brought up. Retired, 70+ years old, stock market surge, grandchildren, wow. All these changes have allowed me to turn my interest to things other than my portfolio. My kids are doing well, they agree mom and dad should enjoy retirement. Not quite. Im retired now. I expect my expenses will frequently exceed my income.(I’ll be spending the money i have been saving for “later”. )My fixed expenses (including mortgage) total the same as yours. This is $26,000 and does not include a bunch of necessities...Total expenses have to be less than net income, right?Seems hard to believe a couple can have expenses under $50K or $60K.
Can't spend what you don't have. Well, you can... But not for long.
