Personal Investments • To sell all bonds or not

I'm holding my nose and keeping my bond funds.

Reasons:

• Bond funds are finally yielding great dividends, well over 4%, sometimes close to 5%.

• The decrease in bond fund value is not real until & unless I sell it. I don't want to lock in losses.

• Someone wrote once (I'm paraphrasing) that in a good, diversified portfolio, there's always something that disappoints you.

• As a whole, my portfolio is doing fine, so my overall strategy is working, and that strategy includes bonds.

• My IPS says to stay the course with my current AA, and I try to obey it.

• One of my favorite investing quotes: "Don't just do something, stand there."

Maybe I'll end up regretting not dumping my bond funds. But they're part of the overall advice I've gotten, and I've done very well by that advice, taken as a whole.
