Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Question: When is it time to hire an advisor?

I hired a one-time advisor once to check all my plans and wasn't impressed.
I consolidated at Fidelity so now I just use the Fidelity planning tools and talk to a Fidelity CFP free of charge if I want my plans checked.
You didn't mentioned where your portfolio is but an advantage of Fidelity is they will provide some free help while Vanguard won't unless you pay for PAS. Not sure of others.
How do you talk to a CFP at Fidelity free of charge? I know Schwab offers a complimentary plab https://www.schwab.com/financial-planning/schwab-plan and it seems to be done by a CFP according to one report. https://www.reddit.com/r/Schwab/comment ... _for_free/
