Personal Consumer Issues • Weird un-Amazon-like experience with something probably sold/shipped from China

It might be some seller gaming the system where they sell a handful using Amazon as the shipper but as soon as that inventory is out, the Chinese shipper is then the backup. So a buyer thinks they are getting Amazon Prime with their order.

Amazon has gotten sketchy, I tend to go out of my way to only buy things both sold by and shipped by Amazon. It's become more like Ebay now where its the Wild West.

If something has a small amount of reviews, I would be very wary. I also look at reviews for the vendor, if it's new and not many reviews, probably best to avoid. I just ordered something recently and Amazon cancelled the order saying they didn't trust the vendor. Why then are they selling on your platform?
In my case, the stuff actually did arrive in Amazon packaging--one of their tough brown-paper envelopes saying "recycle just like a box." Looked like an Amazon delivery, although I didn't spot the truck.
