On the AllState payment page, I see two options: "Total Balance" and "Other Amount". Upon clicking "Other Amount", I see these messages...
> "Payment includes an Installment fee."
> "You will be charged an installment fee each time you pay the minimum amount due or any amount between the minimum and the pay in full amount. Avoid paying installment fees by paying in full. If you pay in full, you won't be sent a bill until your policy renews, unless you make a change in coverage resulting in additional premiums. See the installment schedule on your bill."
Seems pretty clear. I also found that their fee ranges from $4 to $8 per installment, depending on frequency of the payments. So basically they want to make you pay for the "flexibility", even if you are paying in full, using multiple payment methods, by the due date. With premiums rising so fast, pretty sure they are raking it in with these fees.
