My realtor helped me make cost effective renovation decisions, then executed the renovation with no effort from me, suggested we price the unit higher than I would have, found buyers through a network of agents I never would have found, then did a better job negotiating the final price/terms than I could have. And of course did all the contractual stuff. Was that worth 6% of the sale price (more like 4% after taxes as I was over the $250k tax free limit)? It was sure worth something.I never understood why we need realtors . We need professionals who can frame a legal contract between the two parties for a fees and can keep the house safe while the house is being shown ( you don’t need a professional being paid 300-400$ / hr for keeping house safe )
This one is a headscratcher for me. Doesn’t every one just use Zillow to look at inventory and tell their buyer agent to show them specific listings?
