I have this with a mandatory plan, then separate voluntary 403b and 457. I max the latter 2, so end up saving almost 90K pretax per year when accounting for employer contributions.
You have a third of your low 7 figures in tax deferred. That’s maybe 400K and you are late 40s in the 24 or 32% bracket? I think it’s unlikely Roth makes sense for you, especially because of your expenses it may be hard to max your tax advantaged space if you choose Roth.
