Personal Finance (Not Investing) • Warning: Positive LCE IRMAA decision retroactive reversal-worth appealing?

In 2021 I had a LCE that resulted in large income that made me subject to IRMAA in 2023. 2022 income quite low. 2023 income ultimately higher than 2022 but nowhere near 2021.
Assuming 2022 income was below IRMAA threshold, and assuming SSA accepts your LCE, then you are entitled to no IRMAA in 2023, regardless of 2023 income. So either Form SSA-44 didn't make clear that you want to use 2022 income for IRMAA determination, or SSA people changed their mind about accepting your LCE, or they made a mistake.

Care to share the following entries from Step 2 and Step 3 of your SSA-44: tax year, adjusted gross income, tax-exempt interest, filing status.
