How bad is your cash flow shortfall?
Monthly expenses about $4000; annual expenses $50-60,000
My Social Security $9600 annually, Husband's Social Security will be $24000 annually.
If there's no other income like a pension, then this looks like (9,600+24,000)/12 = 2,800/month in and 4,000/month out, so a shortfall of $1,200/mo?
The shortfall could be higher as it sounds like husband is not yet collecting SS and it sounds like no current wage income (We need to generate additional income until one or both of us is able to work again); perhaps as high as $3,200/mo. Perhaps the OP will verify the shortfall estimates given above or tell us the actual shortfall.
