No, I don't think it's crazy and we have already done exactly that for 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2029. Image may be NSFW.Does anyone have an opinion on buying the 1.3% I-Bond for a 2026 contribution? I already purchased a 1.3% I-Bond for my wife and I using the gift box method. That purchase will serve as our contribution for 2025. I realize this question is difficult to answer with interest rate movements being impossible to predict. However, if we don't need the money, do you think it would be crazy to lock in the 1.3% rate for 2026 and skip all the rate adjustments between now and then?
